Reality is seen by our cultural background and each considers their reality as "the Reality". It is seldom that we stray across the line to consider how others see the world.

More about how we Think
We at ‘Dark Star’ acknowledge our earth crystals as being forms of both a metaphysical and scientific creation. Of the one thought a small amount is known and of the other there’s even less that’s understood. The further that you delve into science, the less you realize that you know. There are quantum and relativity theories that quite nicely explain certain aspects of light physics, the photon and the light wave. They contradict each other and yet they each explains a certain aspect of how things work from a scientific point of view. Gemology leans toward the light wave, laser research favors the photon. How can we exclude either way of seeing things? The one idea is as valid as the other.

From our observations we are assured of the crystal’s birth and growth in a fiery chamber of mineralized embryonic fluid. The unit cell is the crystal’s blueprint, much like organic DNA. It defines how the crystal will grow within set temperatures and pressures, but this is all theoretical.
The presence of elements, both rare and common bestows properties of economic and transcendental value, though as humans our field of vision limits us to beliefs of limited understanding. Generally it is science or metaphysics that define our perception. Reality is seen by our cultural background and each considers theirs as superior to the alternate. It is seldom that we stray across the line to consider how others see the world. And usually, we are utterly convinced as to our beliefs and disdainful of the other side.

At Dark Star Crystal Mines we believe that at some time in the future the our society will have evolved into people with a greater degree of openness. We hope that both parties (scientific and metaphysical) will link arms in mutual acknowledgement of the wonder that’s encapsulated in the natural world. Our crystals are frozen mineral beauty, its flowers that have grown according to geometry and mathematics. As Mitch, “the rockhound hippy” points out handle these flowers with care, if they die there are none to replace them. Both ways of thinking could well be much the same, but as seen through different filters they stand to divide those upon who philosophy has no meaning.

Exposing as many people as possible to our ‘Earth Crystals’ and what we currently know about them is chief amongst our aims. We are here to educate as well as trade and most importantly we intend to enjoy ourselves as first and foremost crystals are our passion. Metaphysical or scientific, the rush is just the same. You should see the excitement when we find a really beautiful piece.
